I’ve just returned from a holiday in Italy. Its the first time I’ve been there but hopefully it wont be the last. It really is a beautiful country. Here is a shot taken in Pisa on the banks of the river Arno.

Here’s another shot from my recent trip to Italy.  This is the Ponte Vecchio in Florence taken from the Uffizi Gallery.

I had a trip to Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales earlier in the year.  The weather wasn’t fantastic but that made for some dramatic light.  This shot was taken from Raydale looking back over the roman road into Wensleydale.

This week I’m posting some more commercial work -  a small compilation of lifestyle shots for a hotel in Cumbria, used for their brochure and website.

I’ve just come back from another trip to the Languedoc region of France. Here is a picture taken in the historic town of Carcassonne.

Florence is a city which attracts artists of all kinds. This guy was painting the Duomo from the Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. I couldn’t wait around to see the finished picture but he seemed to be pretty talented and it was looking great even at this stage.

Here’s an image I took a while ago in the Portuguese town of Silves. These two guys were just relaxing in the shade watching the world go by. I uploaded it to “The World Bench Project” which is a web-based worldwide photo project which aims to celebrate the humble bench by featuring photographs and stories generated by the site’s community. Its worth checking out and if you have any pictures of benches then get them uploaded and share.

Despite visits to France and Italy this year sometimes I’m reminded of how beautiful the UK can be too. Whilst driving home recently around Winter Hill the sun was setting behind the rolling countryside of Lancashire and I had to stop and shoot this scene.
